Berliners seemed to have embraced the war. Instead of trying to bury the memory, it's everywhere.

At Checkpoint Charle, the point of entry between the American sector of West Berlin and East Berlin, the site was marked with photos of an American soldier on one side of the border and a Soviet soldier on the other.

I enjoyed the juxtaposition of the modern billboard in the background.
